Flies

Flies, belonging to the order Diptera, are incredibly diverse with over 150,000 species, including house flies, fruit flies, and mosquitoes. They have a single pair of wings and undergo complete metamorphosis, transitioning from egg to larva (maggot), pupa, and adult.

They can be quite the nuisance, especially house flies, which are known for spreading diseases due to their scavenging nature.

What Problems Can Flies Cause?

1. Disease Transmission:
Flies are known to carry a wide range of diseases, including typhoid fever, cholera, and dysentery. They pick up pathogens from decaying matter and then transfer them to food and surfaces.

2. Food Contamination:
Flies can contaminate food by landing on it after visiting dirty places like garbage cans, sewers, and animal feces.

3. Nuisance:
The constant buzzing and presence of flies can be incredibly annoying and disruptive, especially indoors.
