Sow & Pill Bugs

Pill bugs, also known as roly-polies, can be considered invasive in some regions as they adapt easily to new environments and can outcompete native species for resources.

Their ability to reproduce rapidly allows them to establish large populations, which can disrupt local ecosystems.

What Problems Can Sow & Pill Bugs Cause?

Sow & pill bugs in large numbers can sometimes become a nuisance, especially in gardens and homes. Here's why:

1. Plant Damage:

In large numbers, they can damage young plants, especially seedlings, by feeding on their roots and stems.

2. Indoor Nuisance:

They can sometimes invade homes, particularly in damp, dark areas like basements and crawl spaces. While they don't pose a direct threat to humans, their presence can be unsettling.
